We are interested in deciphering the logic underlying epigenetic modifications on chromatin, the specification of gene expression programs, the regulation of translation in response to metabolic state, as well as core metabolic functions of TORC1 signaling and autophagy. We employ a variety of approaches including biochemistry, genetics, small molecule mass spectrometry, next-generation sequencing, imaging – whatever it takes – in our investigations. Guided by our findings, we are also keen on developing novel strategies for attacking particular cancers and other diseases linked to metabolism.
We utilize yeast, mammalian cells, and genetically-engineered mice.
